HARSCO’S GAS AND FLUID CONTROL GROUP STRENGTHENS

STRATEGIC FOCUS ON ALTERNATE ENERGY MARKETS

Appointments of Three Executives Underscore Commitment

To Expanding CNG and LNG Market Segment

Harrisburg, PA (February 14, 2003) – Harsco Corporation’s Gas and Fluid Control Group

announced today the appointments of three senior executives to augment its strategic focus in

the growing worldwide alternate energy market. "As the world’s leader for reliable gas pressure

vessels and precision valves, Harsco’s Gas and Fluid Control Group is uniquely positioned with

the right products, technology and experience to support the world’s growing demand for safe

and environmentally-friendly CNG (compressed natural gas), LNG (liquefied natural gas) and

hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles," said Ronald W. Kaplan, Harsco Senior Vice President –

Operations and President of Harsco’s Gas and Fluid Control Group.

Ronald J. Eickelman has been named to lead the Group’s global alternate energy strategies as

Vice President – NGV Business Development. "Mr. Eickelman’s appointment to this inaugural

position underscores our commitment to becoming the most comprehensive equipment and

service supplier to the worldwide alternate energy market," Mr. Kaplan said. "His extensive

experience and technical expertise in pressure vessel technology and production are an ideal

combination to strategically focus and secure our growing hold in the rapidly emerging CNG/LNG

and hydrogen fuel cell marketplace." Mr. Eickelman most recently served as Vice President and

General Manager of Harsco’s Structural Composites Industries (SCI) unit, the world leader in the

design and manufacturing of lightweight, aluminum lined, composite wrapped, high-pressure

cylinders.

Kenneth O. Miller succeeds Mr. Eickelman as Vice President and General Manager at SCI,

where he brings more than 30 years of executive experience in operations management, most

recently as Vice President and General Manager of Harsco’s Sherwood valve operations. "Mr.

Miller’s successful direction of our leading-edge valve development and manufacturing processes

at Sherwood includes our pioneering OPD (overfill protection device) valve for propane cylinders,

the first American-made product of its type, which has revolutionized safety in the portable

propane cylinder marketplace," Mr. Kaplan stated. "We are confident he will continue this cycle

of success at SCI."

Thomas M. Huebsch becomes Vice President and General Manager at the Sherwood unit,

having served most recently as its Director of Accounting. Mr. Kaplan said, "Mr. Huebsch’s fiscal

stewardship of our Sherwood operations and his broad background in Sherwood’s global

products and markets distinguish him as the right individual to assume this key leadership role."
